Holiday Lights Winners Announced!!

“Montgomery Recreation is proud to announce the winners of our first annual Holiday Lights Spectacular!  We had so many great participants, it made it a VERY tough decision for our judges to pick one winner in each of our 3 categories: Most Original Display, Most Classic Display and Most Unique Display.  Thank you also to the more than 140 residents who voted in our “Fan Favorite” category!!

Virtual Tree Lighting

As 2020 continues to be a year like no other, we feel it’s important to continue one of Montgomery’s longest running traditions.  The Montgomery Recreation Department held a virtual holiday tree lighting so you can enjoy the festivities from the safety of your own home!

First Annual Holiday Lights Spectacular!

This exciting event is a chance to show the community how creative you and your family are! All homes that enter will be judged, and the winners will be selected in the following categories: Most Original, Most Classic, and Best Theme.

Judging will be done from a distance by our fabulous Recreation Committee. The winner of each category will receive a $50 visa gift card as well as a lawn sign for bragging rights! We will also have a “Fan Favorite” winner that will be chosen by the residents. That winner will receive a lawn sign to display on their property.

To enter, please email your completed application form to: Only Montgomery Residents are eligible to participate, and each family must decorate their house themselves.


Submissions Must be Received by December 11th and Winners will be announced the Week of December 21st

“Hocus Pocus” Free Outdoor Movie Friday

Click Photo to EnlargeMontgomery Twp. Recreation has organized a free outdoor movie night for residents on Friday, Oct. 2nd. Space is limited and registration, which closes 9/30, is required due to covid-19 precautions.

The film Hocus Pocus will be shown at the park on Covert Drive behind the municipal building, near the dog park, on Friday, 10/2. The movie is free but we ask everyone to register so we have an accurate count in advance.

Log-in or set-up your free Recreation account. Select Montgomery Recreation programs. On the next screen select Special Events and Seminars, where you will find the Movie Night.

Registration will close at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Check-in starts at 6:00 pm Friday, Oct. 2nd and the movie will start around 7:00 pm. All participants must wear a mask to go to and from their viewing point. Bring a blanket or beach chair! Generously spaced areas will be marked out on the grass for each family group. Parking will be available in the parking lot of The Grove Shopping Center, corner of Belle Mead-Griggstown Rd. and Rt. 206. Pre-packaged popcorn will be provided by the Harlingen Church.
